Since 1998, Algartempo has been placing the right people where operations need them: temporary staffing, recruitment, contract management and outsourcing.
With offices in Porto, Lisbon, Portimão, Albufeira and Quarteira, its head office, its work shows most in hospitality: housekeeping, food and beverage, events, from the low season to the summer peak. Almost three decades close to clients and workers have earned it a reputation built shift by shift.
When Algartempo came to us, it already knew exactly how it wanted to work. What it needed was a tool built to fit. It was our first client, and we started the way every good project starts: by listening to the people who make the operation happen every day.
A company from 1998, getting ready for the future
Almost thirty years on, Algartempo keeps growing: more clients, more sites, more people to coordinate every day. And it keeps looking ahead. In its own words:
“People. Operations. Technology. The future of team management starts at Algartempo.”Algartempo, hospitality brochure
Our challenge was to give that promise a shape: a platform of its own, designed around the way Algartempo already worked, simple for the people who use it every day and ready for what comes next.
Our approach
- Listen first. We started with the people who make the operation happen every day: those who plan the shifts, those who look after the clients, those on site.
- Built to fit, not the other way round. The platform follows the way Algartempo already worked, instead of asking it to change to fit a piece of software.
- Step by step, side by side. Built in small steps, with improvements arriving in days, not months.
- Made to grow. Each new piece fits what’s already there and leaves room for the next.
Clock-ins at a tap
There was one piece Algartempo had wanted for a long time: knowing, as it happens, who started and who finished each shift.
Today, there’s a tablet at the entrance of each site. Workers enter their tax number, confirm their name, and the clock-in is recorded in seconds. Each clock-in finds its own shift on the scheduling board, and anything that needs attention goes to the client, who validates it in the portal.
Closer to clients
A people business lives on its clients’ trust. So every Algartempo client has its own portal: it sees the day’s, week’s and month’s shifts, knows who’s coming and when, requests staff in seconds and gets an e-mail summary of what’s new.
What we built
One platform, shared by Algartempo and its clients. From the request to validating the hours, everything happens in the same place, in view of whoever needs it.
Requests in one place
The client requests staff in their portal, and the request lands directly on Algartempo’s scheduling board, ready to be filled.
Real-time tracking
Every clock-in at the kiosk shows up the moment it happens, and the client sees in the portal who has arrived and who is missing.
Notifications
One e-mail summary, at the times each client chooses, with only what’s new since the last one: schedule changes, tomorrow’s shifts, clock-ins to validate and whatever else they want to follow, for their venues and roles. And a weekly report.
Client validation
There are validation and tolerance rules: shifts within them validate themselves, and the client only confirms the ones that differ, with the differences in view. Breaks are recorded at clock-out on the kiosk itself, so every clock-in arrives complete.
More than a platform
In the end, this project was about making visible what Algartempo has built over almost thirty years: closeness, rigour, and the right people in the right place. The platform is an extension of that way of working, made to grow without losing its identity, honouring the past and ready for the future.
It was a pleasure to work with the Algartempo team, our first client.
“We value their commitment to truly understanding how we work, their constant availability throughout the project, and how quickly every change was made. The result faithfully reflects the way we work.”
